Then there’s the mutant variants, where their hearts beat again, and they start changing more. Brutes, Hunters, and Nightmares. Brutes are pure strength, but they’re stupid and slow, then Hunters are smart, being able to set up traps, but not as strong as brutes. Nightmares are a mixture of both, being fast, strong, and intelligent. They’re purely nocturnal, though. Roadkill - an often derogatory term that describes survivors who don’t belong to a major faction and often live in small gangs and villages, or alone. The Militia - a splinter faction of the UN formed by the remnants of the UN, who go around helping whoever they can. Bandits - also known as Raiders. Humans who don't want to band together with all other humans to fight the zombies but who start preying on other survivors for supplies and resources. RC's - Robinson Crusoe's. Survivors who are radio-isolated and don't know that other humans are in the area, even thinking they might be the last humans alive - but, unlike LaMOE's, they are actually happy to see other living people. Only dangerous in that they might shoot you by accident or on instinct, assuming you are a zombie. Once they realize you're not a zombie, however, they will be friendly - this is what distinguishes them from LaMOE's. Secessionists - also known as "Rebels" or "Rebs". Large organized survivor enclaves that actively do not want to reintegrate with the official government (assuming there is still a formal government left), often because they are upset that the government allowed the zombie epidemic to spread in the first place. If widespread national governments outright collapse, however, there's nothing to "secede" from anymore, and they become the only islands of civilization. Traders of all kinds - there are slave traders, weapons/ammo traders, clothing traders, and supply traders. You can buy any of these products with the currency normally used in Militia territory, pre-war cash, or you can trade for your own supplies and weapons. Sigma Clan [it’s spelt “SIGMA”] - I know the phrase is kind of a groaner, but these guys are like, the embodiment of toxic masculinity. extremely homophobic and sexist. They think they’re “Chads and Sigma males” because they kill literally every other male survivor they see, and kidnap, and enslave the women so they can use them as breeders to make more of their Chadlings to grow into Sigma male warriors, so they can train them to raid settlements.
